DescriptionBetcha thought I was done with Fred Friday when I didn't post anything last week.Nope ... that was just me being forgetful. I still have more in the vault! This is a fun one. I didn't know about this character when the sketch card was listed on eBay, but he looked cool ... and me being a Spider-Man fan, I had to go for it. I later found out that his first appearance was in Detective Comics #463 (1976). So I included an image of the comic with the sketch card. Happy 1st Fred Friday of 2026! Social/Sharing |

More in the vault? Now you are really starting to scare me buddy. Anyway, since you didn't do one last week, why not a double post this week? Ha! I know, I know. I probably shouldn't give you any ideas. Just one question. If he's the Black Spider, why is he in a big purple suit? Whatever. Happy Fred Friday to all. Enjoy the weekend.

Do you have a springboard set up in the vault like Uncle Scrooge and dive in and swim around in all your Hembecks?

Nice one! Well I know the character (I own the art to the Detective Comics #463 cover), but I didn't know about the Hembeck card! Great grab Paul!

I always liked the Black Spider costume design. This one is cool, because it looks like Trump cosplaying as Black Spider. KFC for lunch, McDonald's for dinner and Twinkies and Ho-Hos for dessert!

You must have collected so much of Fred's DNA on those sketch cards that you can clone him and make a whole new sketcher. You'll never need to go on eBay again. Fred makes the Black Spider look like a real brawler, ready for a bit of Lucha Libre. Fun sketch.
