Dream Girl by Mark Stegbauer

As Mark was working through his 30 Days of the 30th Century campaign, he would draw a Legionnaire a day, with people having the chance to claim different characters before he drew them. But, even on days where no one had claimed the character, Mark would go ahead and draw them, anyways, making them available for anyone to purchase. I had pre-claimed two characters - Brainiac 5 and Andromeda - and didn't really have plans to claim any other ones... until I saw this piece! Dream Girl is my next favourite Legionnaire, and I was sure surprised to see that no one had pre-claimed the piece, so I took it as a sign that I should pick this one up, too.

Like the Andromeda, I think this piece was a standout amongst all the other ones Mark did. I love the approach he took to colouring her hair and outfit, leaving them both mostly white, but adding in enough colour that your eye sort of fills in that her hair is a bit more yellow and her uniform is a bit more silvery-blue. All those pale colours really pop against the space background he added, and Dreamy's knowing expression and self-confident pose convey the essence of her character perfectly.
