Description
Tonight I'm posting a two-page sequence from the current Fantastic Four run by Ryan North with art by Humberto Ramos and Victor Olazaba.

In this issue #4, the Fantastic Family (there are so many family members now!) adopt an adorable dog that they name Jelly Bean. Turns out that this dog is actually a huge, hideous many-tentacled monster that has the power to manipulate people into perceiving it however it wishes.

Alicia, being blind and relying on her other heightened senses to get by, is the only one to gradually see through the facade.

On this page, the monster comes after Alicia in her bedroom. Ben is lying right next to her, but the monster has made sure that no one else in the house will awaken to help her.

Yikes!

On the next page (which I have also posted tonight), Alicia fights back, even as the monster struggles to regain control over her.

I always love it when Alicia is featured in a story, and Ryan North always does a great job of showcasing her strengths as a person and valuable member of the FF team/family.

Humberto does a great job of showing the reader the emotions on Alicia's face.  Nice add!!!

I like that she wears a Cap shirt.  Maybe Ben picked it out for her after Johnny gave her a Torch shirt.

I bet you that monster came from licorice black jelly beans.  Those are the worst!

Nice disguise. Makes me wish I wore my sailor outfit.

Great adoption of a horror trope - the monster and the blind girl. The slope in the last panel is a great trick to heighten the sense of danger.

Never go to bed hungry...or was it never eat right before bed. Either way...Jelly Beans are a poor excuse for proper nutrition. This def feels more like a horror page than an FF superhero comic page, and I dig it!

Really beautiful lighting techniques here! But why does Alicia look like a 16 year old girl now?
