The Amazing Mary Jane #1 Sketch Cover Prelim 01

This isn't the first time I've drawn Marvel's most popular redhead from Queens. This time, however, I wanted to try my hand at a more challenging composition. Here on this sketch cover we see Mary Jane Watson going through her collection of previous modeling photos and personal Polaroids. I've included some Easter eggs in some of these photos for Spidey fans to recognize from the character's history. To distinguish the photos from the live figure, I'm going to apply a pastel approach to the photos' content via Copic Markers and hard lead colored pencils. As to the question of whether a background is needed, that is still up in the air like these pictures MJ is tossing at the viewer. More as it develops.
