Rom 23, Page 26 (To Storm the Baxter Building)

And storming the Baxter Building is exactly what Rom did in issue 23 with an assist from Power Man and Iron Fist. On this page (26), by Sal Buscema and Joe Sinnott, Rom's patience wears thin after battling through the building's defense systems in an attempt to find a spacecraft that will take him home to Galador. As one of my many favorite issues of the series, I first read this issue, the second part of a crossover with Power Man and Iron Fist 73, as part of my Rom subscription when it was released in the summer of 1981.

This was one of the first times early in the series that other Marvel super heroes teamed with Rom, as Luke and Danny help Rom break into the Baxter Building so he can find a way to travel back to his homeworld, which he'd been told was destroyed by the Dire Wraiths. Not only did I love this unusual team-up, but I enjoyed seeing Rom, Luke, and Danny trying to make their way through the Baxter Building while battling the Fantastic Four's defense systems of lasers, sonic shrieks, H.E.R.B.I.E.'s, and finally on page 26, a containment field and battering ram, with Rom defiantly declaring, "NO...MORE!"
