It's really cool to get something like this which fits your collecting parameters, but in such a different style! It's a very nice piece, too. While we were being treated to the start of the Marvel Universe, this is what was coming out in Japan. Neat!
These were a more innocent take on the war genre than we're used to and made the adventure the focus for kids. It's quality is right up there for 1961 as it could have easily have been translated into anime of the time.
A shining new facet to your war collection jewel!
Manga war art and only a decade and a half or so after WWII! Awesome looking splash (at least I think it's a splash? I don't have the Manga rulebook handy heh.)! Was glad I was able to see several of these pages in person at the show and happy they are now sitting in the best war art collection on CAF! congrats Peter.
This is a great page! Love the manga style and the fact this was created in 1961 is extra special
Good thing Patrick led you to that stack ;)
Nice framing of the image, foregrounding the hero.
These are fantastic! I wish I had made it to the stacks in time!
Nice depiction of the aircraft and the carrier!
