The Batman Adventures: Mad Love Sketch Cover Prelim 02

Well we're finally here, Champions. The inking stage is finally complete. I've tried to keep everything as spaced out as possible to make room for the color. Plus it shows how insulated Harleen thinks her world is prior to finding that rose with a note on her table. I've also created some distortion on the face of the degree on the wall to show a glare across it. I'm especially proud of the dry brush application on her crossed legs, creating the illusion of nylons. I deliberately blended her black skirt in with the shadow of The Joker; it's as if she's already being absorbed into his world without her realizing it. I apologize for the shadow on the spine of the book; I'll endeavor to correct it somehow for the final image. For the coffee table, I kept everything simple and even threw in some detail on the side of the bowl in view. Even without color I feel that this black and white image could stand on its own. However, it's destined for color so more as it develops.
