Alma from Blacksad by Mirka Andolfo

Just got this in from ComicSketchArt. This was a 4x6 size head portrait by Mirka Andolfo they were offering on Whatnot during C2E2 and Megacon. I was told they dont offer this sizing as part of her normal list, but its perfect for a display I'm setting up.

I've been getting portraits of characters from the European series "Blacksad" which is one of my favorites, but from other artists than the series artist Juanjo Guarnido. You can see the Blacksad and Weekly piece I have so far. One of the more impactful tertiary figures in the stories is Blacksad's love interest and ex-fiance Alma Mayer. I knew I needed her for the display and deliberated on a few artists whod be perfect for it; but Mirka was always in my mind as she's one of my favorites and reliably excellent. So when this pricing and sizing presented itself, I went ahead and purchased, this being my third piece from her.

This is my first time getting 3 pieces from a single artist, but you can see why. She always delivers, and I absolutely love this piece. The brushwork here is fluid and elegant, yet deliberate and crisp. She can adapt her style to any character and render them to be instantly recognizable. And of course, she draws beautiful women, including cat women. I am very glad I chose her to render this portrait.
