Description

The Darkness / Batman crossover is one of my favorite '90s crossovers (right under the Batman/Spawn issues and Batman/Punisher issues). I think this one appealed to me mostly because of the art. Silvestri and Finch on penciling duties made this one impressive book. This is also Finch's first published work on Batman and came out many years before he ever worked for DC.

This page is the first meeting of the two characters and the first page they both appeared on together.

The previous several owners all claimed this page was penciled by Marc Silvestri. However, Heritage recently listed it as penciled by Finch with inks by John Livesay. I have always thought this page looks more like Finch than Silvestri and I bought it believing that to be the case.

Nice piece of '90s nostalgia for me.

12 panel sequence showing how storytelling is done!  The same care goes into each panel as Finch would put into an individual illustration.

As a young gun at Top Cow and an understudy of Silvestri, Finch was on a mission to showcase his talent and abilities and his work in this book helped build his case.

Beautiful 12 panel page!! I'd agree that it looks more like Finch than Silvestri, but either way, it looks great!

Great action and inks, and I would have guessed Finch too. Lovely!

Dang what a freaking cool sequence of panels and images for these 2 characters interacting for the first time! There's just something extra special about Batman crossing over with other characters/titles/IP etc. - this is a really cool one! Def looks like Finch but I usually believe whatever credit I'm given from the source I bought it from! congrats.

I am generally drawn to larger splash images, but wow, I really like this 12 panel layout. It's like having 12 pieces of corner box art that tells a great story.
