English/American Illustrator Peter Llloyd, who may be best known for his conceptual and visual work on the movie Tron, produces another outer-space masterpiece that bears his immediately identifiable slick Sci-Fi style. "What's New in the Universe ", depicts a highly stylized winged male figure riding a robo-horse into the cosmos. It's the artist's futuristic style that makes this image so effective and dreamlike. One could call it Sci-Fi Deco with its sleek, streamlined shapes and shiny, flowing forms. Llloyd used mostly airbrush for the wide areas of the background. To define the subject's shape and highlights, he painted them with gouache by hand. After almost 50 years, the artwork still stirs one's imagination of the vast Beyond of Intergalactic Space. unsigned.
