Original Art to Prince Namor, the Sub-Mariner issue 11 page 16 with pencils by Gene Colan and inks by George Klein, digitally restored and colored by Jeff Tamplin. Restoration includes removal of dust and scratches, un-erased pencils lines, editorial blue lines, glue stains, and surface wear.
Namor doesn't appear on this page but it does have some action scenes and an interesting panel arrangement, and it has the luscious brushwork of George Klein over Gene Colan's pencil work, and an appearance by a minor villan (Cap'n Barracuda). Plus I only paid $20 for it in the mid-1990s (who can pass up a silver age Marvel page by Colan and Klein for $20?). I digitally restored the line work and recolored the page, just for fun, using the vintage palate plus also colored a separate version based on a scan of the printed page. Let me know what you think of my recolored scheme and mostly bichromatic panels and/or what you think of the original colors (not credited in the issue) in the comments section below. Thanks, Jeff!
