Namor by Manix Abrera

This piece is part of a larger collection of comic art sketch cards that represent friends I have met along the way in the comic art hobby. Some were chosen because the collector seriously focuses on that character, and others simply because I noticed a piece in their gallery and wanted to see a sketch card interpretation of that character. I decided not to name names, leaving the collection open to interpretation, since it reflects the community as a whole and the shared connections that make this hobby meaningful. Each card is a tribute to the friendships formed, the generosity of fellow collectors, and the joy of discovering characters through someone else’s passion.

What can I say about this Manix piece that the hobby doesn’t already know. Manix is hands down one of the most creative artists out there and is absolutely fun to collect. The colors pop beautifully in person, just like all his other pieces. This one places the viewer directly in Namor’s sights and pulls you into unimaginable depths. It was not only a mystery sketch, but a card from an artist I truly admire.

Additionally, this piece was inspired by a collector who has been incredibly supportive of my collecting over the years. He is generous and kind to the community and truly brings people together. It has been fun running into him at shows from time to time and supporting each other’s collecting achievements online. I also admire how he always reminds everyone to be kind to others in this difficult world and to hold our loved ones close as he closes out his shows. He is a true supporter and champion of the hobby.
