Magik by Rombutan

This piece is part of a larger collection of comic art sketch cards that represent friends I have met along the way in the comic art hobby. Some were chosen because the collector seriously focuses on that character, and others simply because I noticed a piece in their gallery and wanted to see a sketch card interpretation of that character. I decided not to name names, leaving the collection open to interpretation, since it reflects the community as a whole and the shared connections that make this hobby meaningful. Each card is a tribute to the friendships formed, the generosity of fellow collectors, and the joy of discovering characters through someone else’s passion.

Rombutan really brought a classy version of Magik with this piece. It was an absolute stunner when it landed. The form is lovely and I love the color choices. 

This piece was inspired by a collector who happens to be celebrating a birthday today. With all that background portrait-style confetti, it felt like the perfect piece to post for the occasion. This collector has introduced me to X-Men pieces on many occasions and is a fan of animals, which is something I always connect with. I also share a love for koi fish, and I appreciate the support he gave me as I worked my way into dog ownership. Always a pleasure to visit at OAX, and Happy Birthday!
