Twelfth 12th Doctor Who Peter Capaldi - Phil Noto

As I mentioned on my last Phil Noto piece, he is one of my absolute favorites, and I think it needs to be noted that he is a digital artist whose work looks even better with traditional materials.  Many of our favs struggle to execute at the same level traditionally, but Phil's got the stuff.

I know from his social media posts over the years he is a big Doctor Who fan.  I've seen him do many companions, but I knew I wanted to see his take on one of the Doctors.  I gave him his choice of 10 through 12 (my favorites) and he opted for Capaldi.  

I've really warmed up to his era, the last Doctor Who Magazine poll ranking all episodes put two of his in the top 5 so I think the fandom at large has embraced him too despite a rocky first season.  

Phil does such a great job at capturing likenesses but still coming through with the 'Noto' lens or style.  There's certainly detail here, but I feel like he's able to capture his subjects faces without over rendering.  I loved the commision so much, and was very grateful and excited to see the TARDIS and Planet background thrown in too!
