Wonderful take on Star Wars, after the movie storyline. 

Love this issue and page! Terry Austin on Star Wars is something to behold as well. congrats on winning the bidding war for this special Star Wars page. 

This looks like the Adam Strange style of sci-fi Carmine used for a long time.  He wasn't about to bend it towards looking like the movie and just let Austin do all that.  His concern was more in the tried and true storytelling.

The copyright and licensing history of the franchise is... complex. For at least the first 20 years Twentieth Century Fox owned the copyright for the first film, whereas Lucas retained ownership of any sequels under that original contract along with the merchandising. And the likeness rights were equally complicated. I would assume this was at least partly intentional by Marvel and Lucasfilm to dodge any issues with the main cast and their individual likeness agreements.

So crazy to see Austin over Infantino, two styles as diametrically opposed to each other as you'll find, yet it still works and looks great!

Big nostalgia for me with early Infantino Star Wars.  I like his take on the characters. And his backgrounds and space ships were always on point.  Great example!

Fun continuation of the Star Wars story by Carmine Infantino and Terry Austin. Love the scenes of Han Solor arguing with a fellow space pirate. Best of all is the final scene of the Space Pirate's ship parked unseen on the exterior of an Imperial Star Cruiser. Great pick-up, congrats!
