Pull up a rug kids, and ole' Mr. D is gonna tell ya what it was like in the old days. Okay, not really. But I'm not sure many today are aware of the cartoon, Mr. Magoo. He was an elderly near-sighted fiesty guy that would often get into trouble because he couldn't see well. From September 1964 to April 1965, he was the star of a series called "The Famous Adventures of Mr. Magoo". It was 26 episodes, each cartoon telling a famous piece of literature and featured Mr. Magoo as one of the "actors" as if it were a play. And at the beginning of EACH episode, Mr. Magoo would do a little funny intro featuring an aspect of the story in his unique and funny way. And I have taken a HUGE leap of faith in saying this storyboard was created by Bob McKimson because he was the Animation Director for the series. I couldn't find a specific resource identifying the actual person, but McKimson had to be heavily involved in some way.
This storyboard is 1 of 2 for the introduction to the William Tell feature. This particular story was the first episode. So in a way, this specific storyboard is what kicked off the whole series.
