Jonah the Bear RARE Early Daily Frank Verbeck

Verbeck is known for his comical Bear illustrations for Childrens books and magazines starting in the 19th century. Around 1910 he moved to england - the strip does not appear in Holtz so may have only run in England or ran i none of the American Humor  magazines- I have seen 3 examples in my half century plus of collecting - two in the US and one listed in England-  if drawn in Europe this would be the early teens 1910-1915 if drawn in America it would be earlier than that. Very large size 30 inches long - pen an ink on thinner board with a ptach in the  third panel
