Origin story of the Claw! I can't remember if my high school buddy actually went to Egypt, or if I just made all that up. Regardless, who knew there was a secret lever under the Sphinx which would cause a pyramid to open up and reveal a hidden underground chamber? Notably, this issue came out long before Hellboy arrived on the comics scene; perhaps Mignola was inspired by the Gulf Coast Avengers...?

It has something of a Mummy Returns feel - and a little of Ibis and Doctor Fate thrown in. Great backstory.
