Amazing pickup. I am incredibly jealous
Will suck mud for comic art! Sweet Cho cover, Shape Of Water was a beautiful film!
nice duke, very cool and spooky cover piece buddy
Creature from the Black Lagoon vibes with a catfish twist. Great Cho example!!
Damn. Nice combo image
Nice updated take on The Creature. Cho somehow manages to make him look more "manly" in a way. Like The Creature on steroids. I mean, those are some serious thighs. And the dame is classic Cho of course.
My thoughts exactly. Usually artists stick close to the original Creature of the classic film, which just ends up looking a little too much like a guy with gills and diving flippers. This on the other hand, truly looks like some half-man monster.
Great addition to your collection, Duke. Congrats on getting it!
Fishy creature to the rescue!
Nice homage to the classic Creature. The folds and shading really give it a solid look, and the delicate handling of the background is very nicely done.
Man, I wish he hadn't drawn the Creature carrying the woman, then we'd be able to see the rest of his ripped physique that looks strong enough to take on the Hulk. Look at those quads and calves!
Blasphemy!!
Oh, come one! You KNOW how absolutely boring the female figure is to look at. Huge, muscular, green creatures is what you really want!
Cho's line work is always impeccable- especially with the ladies! Definitely in line with the Oscar winner Shape of Water . Beautiful cover and great acquistion!
Really enjoy the Monsters & Dames theme and what a beautiful cover, congrats!
Really great piece! Man, that guy is so incredibly talented. Congratulations on another winner!
Lovely!
All the beast is toned and the lines are gray
I've been for a walk on a water's shape
I'd be safe and warm if I was in O.A.
Dames and Monsters dreamin' on such a cover page
Stopped in to a church I passed Lagoon that way
Well I got down on the trees and I pretend to pray
You know the Creature likes the Cho
He knows I'm gonna pay
Dames and Monsters dreamin' on Sunday streamer's day
Amazing cover!!! I love the big contraste between both figures!!!
Wow, whatta cover, Frank Cho’s Creature is friggin’ amazing, big congrats!
Monsters and babes - some of Frank's best work!
Put Brandy down, you monster! Frank will not be happy!
Cool take on the Creature. Congrats!
Love lift is up where we belong.
Gorgeous!
Fantastic cover and perfect contet for Cho!
Beautifully drawn! Great composition and cohesiveness between the figures. The details are impressive. Admit it, you got it because the Duke couldn't resist those Daisy 'Dukes'. Yet another impressive piece for your collection.
Spectacular.
(You let Ruben have the wet scally monster and leave the other character to me ;)
Monsters and Dames is a great them and Cho is perfectly suited for this cover. Congrats - this is extremely nice.
This is some Frank Cho art that I wouln't mind on the wall.
Nice! I was at this con and remember that cover! Congrats!
Spectacular Cho, Duke! A theme of "monsters and dames" would be like shooting fish in a barrel for Frank, and he shows why here: a heavy duty, positively dynamite, Frazettaian composition featuring a gorgeous monster and monstrously gorgeous dame. Frank's detail level is cranked to 11 on this one (as usual - aside from the stunning, incredible texture lines and wash tones given to the creature, there's soft grit added to the smoke / fog clouds, fine outlines of the bats in the background, and even the small, happy frog on the richly detailed log at the bottom...), but I love how the haphazardly filled-in background blacks play off those details (especially along that right side) giving a nice edge and further sense of menace to the wisps of fog they represent (all of which was apparently ignored on the published piece, alas...). But you have it in all its glory here, Duke, and thank you for sharing it with us. A triumph to add this Cho! Huge congrats!
