Description

I really thought I was done with Fred Hembeck sketch cards (part 6).

I really enjoy all the little subset themes that Fred does with his sketch cards.  Like the holiday ones he does where he pairs Santa with all our favorite characters.  I haven’t grabbed one of those yet, but I’m sure it’s just a matter of time.  Another one of his newest themes are those “bobblehead” versions he does where the characters have oversized heads.  Those are fun too, although I’m not as in a hurry to get one.

But probably one of the coolest and most fun themes he’s done has been the split versions with the characters and their alter egos.  He only did a handful in that first batch I saw, but they were all great.  Of course when I saw this Peter Parker/Spidey one, it was a no-brainer.  I knew it would be a popular one and I knew the bidding might be costly, but I didn’t care.  I was determined to win it.  So yeah, the final price on this stung a bit, but I really wanted it.  If I hadn’t paid so much for this one, I probably would have picked up a couple of the other split cards.  Oh well, maybe next batch.  But at least I got my favorite character so it’s all good.  I just hope my next Hembeck card won’t empty the wallet as much.  Ha!  Thanks Fred!  And thanks to those who stopped by for a visit.  Appreciate your time.

Is he half-man or half-spider?

That's one way to leak your secret identity.

50% science nerd, 50% super-hero, and 100% fun!

You should get one of these done with your avatar and your favorite hero in a half and half masterpiece!

The bobble head style harkens back to Fred's cards from 2010-2015. And the split alter-ego cards were a fun sub-set indeed. Congrats on snagging Peter!

Part 6? You can quit at any time. Any time you like. This is a great Ditko-esque Fred. Great design.

This is such a fun and feel-good piece of artwork; I love it!  Congratulations on winning this gem and the price paid was certainly a bargain for all of the smiles it generates now and in the future!

Nostalgia perfection. I always loved the half/half images like this in comics. Just a perfect use of the medium. Congrats on this fun pick up!

The minute I saw this I was reminded of all the Steve Ditko Spider-Man scenes where just Peter Parker's face was shown with a half-Spider-Man mask whenever his Spider-Sense went off! So I found this version, with a half-Spidey suit very amusing. I wonder why Ditko never did one like this during his run? I'd love to see a Ditko pin-up like this! Anyway, cool pick-up!

I don't think the new CAF site has an option for me to embed an Al Pacino Godfather III gif (or I don't have the patience to figure it out) but just when you think you're out Fred pulls you back in with the dual shades of Peter Parker perfection!

That's okay.  I can't figure out how to do anything on this new CAF.  I keep accidentally turning things off that I want to turn on and vice versa.  LOL!  But yes, Fred is apparently very familiar with the Pacino playbook.  I'm sure as I type this, he's already hatching up some new diabolically addictive sketch card themes.  Thanks for the comment buddy.

It's hard to be done with Hembeck art - once the bug bites you, you are forever impacted (like a radioactive spider). Congrats - love this PP/ASM piece!
