5x10.25" and 7.25x10" vellum sheets contain original art pencils and inks for the very first Bullwinkle daily promotional newspaper ads. July 1962. These very first "Starting Monday" ads were used to promote the upcoming daily strip for Monday of the next week. Ads feature "Got That Run-Down Feeling?" w/Bullwinkle w/tire tracks on his body and other ad had Rocky and Bullwinkle w/a drum as Boris is lighting a fuse that goes into the drum's side. Text "No, It's Not Moosic Man....It's Bullwinkle". Original art is by Alfred R. Kilgore (1927-1983), who signed his work Al Kilgore, was an American artist who worked on the Bullwinkle comic strip for the Bell-McClure Syndicate between 1962 and 1967. A syndicated daily newspaper comic strip titled Bullwinkle which began on July 23, 1962 with original stories that ran until 1965. Lt. aging (tanning)/handling wear. Small spots of white-out. Larger piece has scattered staining. Does not affect artwork. VF. Early published art pre-dates the first daily strip.
