Description

It's been a real scorcher out there and just when you thought Twin Peaks Summer couldn't get any hotter, here comes the cover to the OG Twin Peaks publication, Wrapped In Plastic #22.

WIP began publishing in 1993, shortly after the release of the film “Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me”, and ran for 75 issues until it's finale in 2005. Craig Miller not only did the cover art for issue #22, but he also co-produced the entire publication with John Thorne. The book itself featured some great behind the scenes content from the show, but also would occasionally have X-Files news, which made for a unique publication. I don't have all 75 issues (yet), but they are a fantastic look back into the mid 90's and offered up some wonderful David Lynch fan service at the same time.

I really like this cover due to the simplicity of it, and that isn't something that you will hear me say too often. Clean and elegant lines come together to create a spot on character likeness of Shelly Johnson, played by none other than the beautiful and talented, Mädchen Amick. The different line weights are very effective. It's a great example of less is more and it shows especially on the published version with that signature Blue Rose hue.

Big thanks goes out to Craig Miller for these beautiful lines and for giving us twelve years of this publication.

Like the fashion magazines of old!  The simplicity of the color scheme also gives off the innocent and pure nature of the characterization.

Cool, clean imagery from Twin Peaks fandom!  That is a really nice drawing and it takes me back to the previous millennium

X-Files and Twin Peaks in the same zine with that many issues and I had no idea it even existed! Pretty cool to learn about now through your post though - thanks for the info/pics and congrats on the cover!
