X-Man #1 Page 4 - Age of Apocalypse - Nate Grey outside the X-Mansion

For all the incredible Nate Grey, X-Man original art pages in my collection, I've always considered them placeholders for pages from the original four-book crossover. The story that introduced the character has always been the most meaningful to me, and unsurprisingly, pages from that storyline are among the hardest to find. I'm especially happy to now own a page from the very first issue.

Cable was one of my favourite characters when I first got into X-Men, thanks to his introduction in X-Men: The Animated Series. So, picking up X-Man #1 was a no-brainer. With all the long-established X-Men titles already on the shelves, buying this issue the week it was released felt like my chance to get in on the ground floor on a book.

X-Man #1 starts with Nate Grey in a dream. Here he finds himself in front of an old ruined mansion, he senses a place of power, what was to be Professor Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters.
