X-Men Legacy #231 pg 5 (Mann pencils, Miki inks, Carey story) - NECROSHA X - Destiny imprisoned taunting Leon Matheson

Connecting page to my X-Men Legacy #231 pg 4, in the NECROSHA X storyline.  This page features Destiny, recently returned to the "living", taunting another recently revived mutant, Leon Matheson (farmer with the power to influence rainfall) for her freedom.   

The NECROSHA X storyline had a lot of great battles and tied in familial connections for Blindfold and Destiny, while also linking in Rogue's connection to her adopted mother.   I really enjoy all the fun family connections, especially when they involve Rogue or Nightcrawler.  Love getting pages from the return of Destiny after she died in Uncanny X-Men #255 (1989) and coming back for this brief storyline 20 years later (2009).  

Mann and Miki's (with the inking team - Allen Martinez and Walden Wong) art is really done nicely with the inky blacks and moody in-shadow imprisoned Destiny.  You can feel and smell the darkened, damp, musty, staunchly aired crypt/prison that is being used as Selene's fortress for this storyline.  I also really enjoy Destiny using her cunning fortune telling as a bargaining tool to read characters and ultimately gain her freedom.  The Matheson character is short lived and eventually beaten and brought to Selene for letting Destiny escape.
