Matthew Allison, transcendental Spider-man

Spidey in a way that only Matt could draw him. Love it!

Matt is an amazing inker and you knew his webwork would be stellar, but the main attraction is the skull!  The way he creates them is a painterly use of the dye markers!

This one tipped the "like" scales on MA's Instagram, and it's no wonder!  Can't get enough of Matt's Big 2 superhero skull series (or anything else he does, for that matter lol).  Nearly every depiction of Spidey in his original costume suffers from a mismatch between the number of vertical weblines in his neck and his head, but  Matt solved this vexing issue in the most creative way here

I'm hoping that the ability to detach his skull from his body will be one of the new powers Spidey has in the upcoming movie.

This piece is as existential and philisophical as it is transcendental! But any way you "slice" it, it's pure Matt Allison. Nice pickup.
