My personal quest for Colan/Everett Black Widow pages from Amazing Adventures continues. If I'm able to buy one or two a year for the next two decades, I'll have them all! I am a relentless root-hog for these grail pages, single-mindedly burrowing for the truffles I know are hidden in collections somewhere.

This purchase was one flickering candle in a year (2006) marked by despairing lows in my monomaniacal quest for Colan/Everett Black Widow art. Earlier in the year, I failed to bid up a nice example on ebay... for the pathetic excuse that I couldn't afford it at the time! I let the fact that I was over committed on time payments for other art cloud my judgment. Why, why, why did I choose that day to act "responsibly"? Is sober realism about what I can and can't afford to be some new and pernicious personality flaw?

On the plus side, my co-bidder on the 2006 Everett inked Black Widow pages (one penciled by Colan, one by Heck) also loves Bill Everett like I do, so I expect that the artwork I underbid on is enjoyed in its new home.

Oh yeah... I still want the shower page from Amazing Adventures #5 (page 3). That's my grail.
