Quinlan Vos is one of my all-time favorite "expanded universe" characters from Star Wars. Created by John Ostrander & Jan Durrsema, Quinlan had an incredible character arc that developed in the pages of the
Star Wars: Republic series published by Dark Horse. Although he never appeared in any of the films, he did get name-checked in

The trade paperbacks collecting the first two story arcs featuring Quinlan, "Twilight" and "Darkness," had covers drawn by Andrew Robinson. I liked his rendition of Quinlan, and I decided that if I ever did get a sketch of the character, I'd want it to be by Robinson. He was at the 2007 Javits Center comicon, and so I had the opportunity to make that request. Luckily he had time to do a head shot. When I gave him reference for Quinlan, Andrew replied, "Oh, yeah, I remember that guy." I ended up paying more than I had intended, but it was worth it, since I had been looking forward to getting this for some time, and it came out so well.
