Description

This is page 10 of Superfriends #7, featuring Godiva, an imitation Medusa and Elongated Man, an imitation Plastic Man. This is just a few pages into her first appearance ever. In addition to being a superhair superheroine, Godiva apparently has a superstrong neck. She is supposed to be English, witness the many idiomatic expressions sprinkled through her dialogue. She has had a long career in DC and is apparently still part of its continuity.

The artist ,Ramona Fradon, (1927-) worked in comics 1950-1965 and 1972-
1995. She co-created Metamorpho, worked on DC’s Aquaman, as well as Batman, Superman and others, most recently until she took over the Brenda Starr comic strip in 1980-1995. I met her in person after acquiring and scanning this and she graciously signed it.

This is a lovely piece- I also have a Godiva and Wonder Woman piece- Godiva is currently bald after a supervillain shaved her head so that the locks of hair could be sold to a popstar! (Not Britney) If ever you want to sell it gimmie a yell.

Nothing in my collection is for sale currently. I'd give you a yell about your piece (or if I changed my mind about selling) if you gave me a means to do so. As for a villain shaving Godiva's head. That's typical of what happens to women in the comics. Please, ladies, for the good of the superheroines, stop ridiculing the manhood of comic book writers!
