Animation Drawing of the Ugly Duckling, 1939

I paid a small fortune for this rather humble animaton drawing due to the fact that an animaton dealer and I both wanted it. It first appeared in a Collector's Showcase auct8on n the early 1980s. I told the dealer that I was going to buy it, and he told me the same. I refused to let it go during the auction, and had a pyrhic victory at about 8 times what it was worth. A few years later, I wanted a drawing of the witch from Snow White that the dealer wanted to keep for his own collection. I ended up paying a somewhat high price for the drawing, but I also had to throw in the rediculously over-priced Ugly Duckling drawing that the dealer had bid up. Several years after that, I got the drawing back from the dealer as part of a major purchase from him of a group of Disney drawings. I would guess that, in the end, I paid about 15 times what any sane person would have paid for this drawing....But it is kind of cute!
