I walked up to Michael Golden's table as this was going on, so I just stayed off to the side and shot a quick pic, and listened in a bit. What's really cool is to see the artists walking up to the other artists as fans. Linsner was basically expressing admiration for Golden's work, and giving him an example of his current work to check out. Linsner's solo Dawn series are wonderul books to behold, and there is some substance there, in addition to a lot of pretty pictures. The Lucifer's Halo series, where Darrian works out some stuff about his father, is especially moving. Golden is a very meat-and-potatoes working man, and doesn't really have time for keeping up with comics, so he's not overly familiar with a lot of what's out there, unless it came across his desk when he was editing or art directing at one company or another. But his work ethic and commitment to getting a job done is a very admirable trait, and one that he is rightfully proud of. That being said, for someone who doesn't have a passion for his craft (not a negative statement, just his own viewpoint), the man does some amazing work. Also a great person to just talk with (but talk to his left ear if you want him to hear you).
