This is Page 8 of Superman #318, December 1977 featuring the immortal (Well not so immortal as it turned out) Peg Leg Portia. I suspect this is one of those stories where they came up with the cover and told the writer to write a story to fit. It speaks for itself. To paraphrase John Lennon, although the story's rather sad, well, I just had to la-augh. I almost put this into the Way Too Weird gallery.
How did those dogs make that trap without hands? Why did they make it if they weren't going to eat what it caught? Given 300 years and all the technology in that rocket, not to mention what she finds along the way, couldn't she fashion something better than a peg leg? What's with the pirate get up? They've explained the patch and the peg, but why the rest of it?
The art is great and Portia is a hottie. The piece is signed by Curt Swan near bottom center.
