DescriptionThe Justice Society of America was Earth-2’s first superteam, forged in the heat of World War II, and featuring their most high profile heroes. They set the heroic standard for all those who followed them.By contrast, the New Teen Titans were Earth-1’s most up and coming superteam. Sidekicks, former sidekicks and new heroes came together to create a new generation of heroism. Though the two teams never did meet in the DCU, this series of commissions showcases the heroes and heroines of both in style! Cyborg - Vic Stone, potential Olympic athlete and promising scientist, was both doomed and saved by his parents. An experiment they were conducting went awry, resulting in the death of his mother, and in most of Vic's body being destroyed. His father used experimental cybernetic devices of his own devising to save his son's life, but left him half man/half robot and angry at the world. Vic has seen many upgrades, downgrades and alterations to his form, but the one shown here is "classic" Cyborg, with his trusty white-sound blaster module firmly in place, ready to fight alongside the New Teen Titans, the first people to look beyond the metal and see the man still within and the hero waiting to be. Dr Fate - The JSA's resident sorceror, Kent Nelson was the son of an archaeologist who was killed when he opened the tomb of the wizard Nabu in Egpyt. Kent was with his father at the time, and the spirit of Nabu took pity on the boy, raising him and teaching him the skills of a wizard and bestowing upon him a mystical helm and amulet. He used these to become Dr Fate. With his tradmark ankh-shaped spellcasting, and operating out of a tower in Salem (where else) which was usually invisible and had a marked absence of doors when it did appear, Dr Fate served for many years with the team. The Atom - Al Pratt, the Golden Age Atom is living proof that size isn't everything. Mocked for his small stature and weak build, student Al Pratt trained himself to be a better fighter than anyone could imagine. Lacking in powers, but more than compensating in guts, fighting skill and sheer determination, Al become the role model hero for every kid who was told he was too short or too scrawny to be on a team, or too small to go on a ride.
