A Distant Soil WARP Cover #8

ORIGINAL COVER ART from the WaRP Graphics edition of A Distant Soil circa 1985, very rare and out of print. None of this art was ever used again or reprinted. Artist/creator Colleen Doran (Friendly Neighborhood Spiderman, Sandman) completely rewrote and redrew the series when she took it to other publishers (it is now at Image Comics).

This original painting measures about 10"x15", and is full bleed on very, very heavy Whatman's illustration board, nealy 1/3 of an inch thick. It is 100% acid free, including the backing.

The art is mixed media, Windsor Newton ink, watercolor, and pencil, with very clear bright colors and no fading, despite being 15 years old. The art has been stored out of UV light, so it is as bright as if it were painted yesterday. The board appears to be in excellent shape. There is some wear on the back of the board that does not affect the art in the least. The board was taped down to a drawing board when painted and the wear must have been from the tape. No harm to the art at all. The surface of the art is very clean, but there appears to be a small, nearly invisible bump in the orange cloud area of the surface. I can't tell if that is a flaw in the original board or not. It really doesn't affect the quality of the art. You can barely see it, and it wouldn't really show if framed. It is very, very small, maybe 1/16 inch tiny bump.

Shipping is very safe. All of my art is shipped in brand new poly jet packs, that cost $3 each. Art is slipped into acid free sleeves, and backed with acid free art boards. The packaging alone is a $6 value. All packaging is re-usable.

This art is a little heavier than normal comic art, due to the size and weight of the Whatman board, which most artists never use.
