Spoiler Alert
In this page from Gilberts long story, we get a glimpse of the child-murderer Thomas in panel 3 to the far right.

Other characters are Luba - Gilbert's heroine and centrepiece of much in the Palomar univers - and Humberto, last panel, the shy artist, who knows who the murderer is, but can't tell due to his inhibitions. Instead he draws what he sees, which doesn't prevent more murders. He's later shunned by the town for not reacting.

Personally I think this is one for Gilberts strongest pages in the story, but that's only because I'm a sucker for the movie like close-up effect of the old man in the first panel and for the agressive show down of all the different characters feelings, showing so clearly and vivid in their faces.
