Yup, the scan doesn't do it justice. I've put it in a greyblack passpartout and black frame and it just looks stunning. I really like the cinematic feel of the page.

Hi Ben, thanks for your comment, actually I scanned my image for Fantagraphics in order to include it in the Don DeCarlo book ;-) And now, a couple years later, I have just spent the weekend with Jaime here in Copenhagen at the Copenhagen Comics Con. I was selling Jaimes pre-made drawings for him in my shop and after that he and I had a nice sitdown and talked for some time, before he had to go on. Jaime is extremely nice. Best Con ever!

Hi David, thanks for the comment. This was done for the 1991 calandear released by Fantagraphics, for the month of august. I can't remember if it showed up in one of the magz as well at some point.

Tres bien cover. It's for an Estrus Records benefit disc, released in calleed "Flaming Burnout.", released on Man's Ruin Records. The final image would be on a light blue background. The Estrus Records warehouse in Bellingham Washington burned down to the ground in 1997 and the compilation was to help rebuild Estrus. I'd say the drawings dates to 1997, since the burn-down happened in January.

Oh man, look at Maggie - it's the early days......she's the reason I first read L&R and still do. Envy is simply too vague a word to use here, mate :-)
