DescriptionWhat can I say about this? Mike Perkins, one of the current Captain America artists, does one of the finest One Minute Laters yet. Here is what Mike said about this: " I figured that Cap should get the girl and Bucky should be going ballistic on The Red Skull - foreshadowing his violent future as Winter Soldier." I love this. Mike did a phenomenal job and I couldn't be happier!!!!!!! Social/Sharing |

Not only is this your best piece yet, but imho one of the few in which the artist actually put some thought into what your theme is really all about. You make it clear as can be that the theme is 1 MINUTE later, yet if we're honest with ourselves, while the vast majority of pieces are nice illustrations, most of them fail to depict a scene which could conceivably be happening a full MINUTE later and instead depict scenes which are happening a split SECOND or a MOMENT later, and in that respect I've always felt that most of the pieces succeed as illustrations but fail as 1 MINUTE later pieces.

.....Many of the artists just seemed to have drawn the exact same scene but with the characters slightly repositioned. If you were to rename the theme to A Moment Later, most of the pieces would succeed in fitting the theme as it was meant to be. Of course, then this Perkins piece would be one of the few that doesn't quite succeed because the scene he depicts realistically would take at least a minute to get to from what's going on in the original cover, buuuuut now I digress..... Fantastic piece!

I think you've had more artists working for you than some comics companies have. Another one knocked out of the ballpark!

Every once in a while, I see a piece of art that makes me stop, stare and smile. This is just extraordinary. I am jealous, and that NEVER happens. I just can't take my eyes off this piece

Having just spent some time with Mike at the Chicago show, I have to say that he fully appreciates his fans. The commissions he does show it, and this is absolutely no exception! This is a beautiful piece. Congrats!
