Byrne & Austin started off with a bang. They didn't even give me much of a chance to miss Dave Cockrum.

Talk about a new art team charging out of the gate at full gallop! Reading each new Byrne/Austin X-Men issue was a hallowed ritual for me as a young teenager. Thanks for sharing this iconic page!

This page marks what I consider to be the first page of one of the greatest penciller/inker combinations in comic history, not to mention one of the great all-around comic creation teams ever. If you ever want to part with this page, look me up.

I remember when I first saw this, I thought "who's this guy?" in reference to John Byrne but within an issue or two, I thought "this guy's a keeper!". Not sure why I hadn't seen this before but huge congrats!

The start of a magical collaboration between Byrne/Austin/Claremont. I still think this is one of the top 3 runs in all of comic book history. Congrats on picking this up.

Everything falls into place in this title page. You can immediately feel why he chose this perspective, like the heroes have all the weight of the universe on their shoulders. They're reacting to an event that could kill all of them and billions lives. But they're still gonna run into it. Heroes.
