Description

My girlfriend Michele self-publishes the books Babylon Babes and Psycho Bunny. She draws very sexy, exotic, voluptuous women (she also draws alcoholic rabbits, among other things). I had this idea that Michele would probably do a really nice rendering of Mantis, the Celestial Madonna, created by Steve Englehart. His original Avengers story arc with the character in the 1970s, and his follow-up in 2001 with Avengers: Celestial Quest, were cool stories.

So, anyway... Michele liked the look of the character, and was intrigued by the spiritual, cosmic aspects of her backstory. I think Michele's drawing came out very nicely indeed.
