I got into the Avengers via Captain America, whose title I began reading in the mid-1980s. The Avengers popped up in Cap's book, and Cap regularly appeared in Avengers, of course. So when I started following comics regularly circa 1990, around the time of "Acts of Vengeance, " I ended up picking up Avengers titles due to the Cap connection. And I found that I really liked the characters. Scarlet Witch, Vision, Hawkeye, Black Widow, Wasp, Hank Pym, Black Panther, Quicksilver, Tigra, and everyone else soon became characters I avidly followed. By reading the new comics, back issues, and trade paperbacks, I gradually caught up on the Avengers rich history, and discovered some incredible stories. Which led me to the idea of starting an Avengers themed sketchbook. Besides, there are soooooo many Avengers members, I'll never run out of characters to commission. (I've also decided to include Avengers villains and Avengers from alternate realities because, hey, it's my sketchbook, and I can do whatever I feel like!)
