Wotta Revoltin' Development This Is! Aquaman and the Thing

As a kid I was a sucker for a team-up book. The Brave & the Bold was always my favorite but I bought them all. Despite my love for B&B, I’ve always thought that the Thing made more sense as the anchor of such a book than Batman. Or Superman. Or Spider-man.

Anyway, when I saw the wonderful commissions that Ron Wilson did for others, I knew I had to get one for my own. Naturally, it’d have to be my boy Aquaman teaming with the Thing. But who should I pit this unlikely pair against? Then I thought: worst case scenario.

So, the king of the seas and bashful Benjy find themselves facing the Super-Skrull and Amazo. With the combined powers of the Fantastic Four AND the Justice League of America arrayed against, them how will our heroes triumph?

Thanks to Jeff Jaworski (http://www.comicbook-art.com/) for setting this up. This was my first time working with Jeff and he treated me just like an old, valued customer. And, of course, thanks to Ron Wilson who did such a wonderful job on my request. He drew a great Silver Age era Aquaman and used the redesign of Amazo from the 70’s that I requested. He even used one of the layouts I sent him for the design of the piece!

And, other than the late, great Jack Kirby, who draws a better Thing than Mr. Wilson?
