Description("Deathtrap!")This is the Original Art for the CLASSIC Cover of BATTLESTAR GALACTICA #3 (May 1979) by Dave Cockrum (pencils) and Rudy Nebres (inks). The art has been autographed by both artists inside the UPC box. Following the huge success of Star Wars in 1977, ABC-TV was quick to jump on the space adventure bandwagon and the result was Battlestar Galactica for the 1978 TV season. This issue is Part 3 (of 3) of Marvel's adaptation of the blockbuster Battlestar Galactica 3-hour Pilot Movie, "Saga of a Star World". An estimated 66 million Americans watched the premiere on Sunday, September 17, 1978 making it the Highest Rated science fiction TV episode of all time - a ratings record that still stands today. NOTE: The published comic of Battlestar Galactica #3 sold for 40 cents - NOT "Still Only 35 Cents!" as depicted on the Original Artwork. Great pick-up, I always liked this cover. Cockrum and Nebres are a nice combination.

I remember seeing this cover on the stands, and thinking the posing made the Cylons look even more agressive than on the show! Big congrats!
