Ordinarily, I wouldn't buy a page that has characters being "out of character". Like those Sekowsky pages with Superman wearing Clark Kent's glasses. In this case, Batman wearing scuba gear.
But I loved this Bob Haney story. And this is a great page of Batman kicking ass underwater. As is the case with this page, it wasn't unusual for Aparo to also do the lettering.
One time I met Jim Aparo and he was telling me that he would get hate mail when he started his run on Aquaman. From Cardy fans?? I suppose that's understandable but Aparo did great work and made the character his own. And he did the same with Batman and the Spectre. Aparo's great storytelling and his own (OK, I'll say it) "unique" brand of anatomy were great standouts at DC in the 70's.
Batman was created by Bill Finger and Bob Kane.
Aquaman was created by Paul Norris and Mort Weisinger.
