Description

I met Joey Gohu and his cousin Hans in the line for the opening day of the Toronto Comic Expo in August 2002. Joey had travelled from Korea to try to sell his work at the convention. While at conventions I always get a kick out of looking at the portfolios of aspiring artists but none has ever impressed me as Joey's manga style work. We spent a lot of the convention chumming around and during this time I commisioned Joey to do a Black Canary for me. The result is one of my favorite pieces I've ever had done of the character. I am still in touch with Joey who still lives in Korea.
