Description
George Clark drew wonderful children. His brush style just lent itself beautifully to the curves and gangliness of a child's body. This piece, from 5/17/44, has a sweet WWII theme, as the child in the sailor's uniform says to the child with the lollipop, "Why aren't YOU in uniform?" That says it all. Just great.

This one actually got a small chuckle out of me rather than just a wry smile. Perhaps it was the brevity. (BTW, I enjoy reading your commentaries. Without your passion for this artist, I may never have even noticed.)
