DescriptionGeorge Clark drew wonderful children. His brush style just lent itself beautifully to the curves and gangliness of a child's body. This piece, from 5/17/44, has a sweet WWII theme, as the child in the sailor's uniform says to the child with the lollipop, "Why aren't YOU in uniform?" That says it all. Just great.Social/Sharing |

This one actually got a small chuckle out of me rather than just a wry smile. Perhaps it was the brevity. (BTW, I enjoy reading your commentaries. Without your passion for this artist, I may never have even noticed.)
