Description
This 8 1/2 X 11 inch beauty was obtained at the annual convention of The National Cartoonists Society when the event was held in Boca Raton, Florida in May of 1995. The event was held there to promote the soon to be opened International Museum of Cartoon Art. Unfortunately, the museum did not live up to expectations and has been looking for a new home ever since. Thankfully, this little souvenir of the event is still with me. A great jam featuring the art of Jose Delbo (DC Comics), Jerry Van Amerongen(?), Johnny Hart (BC), Will Eisner (The Spirit), Dean Young (Blondie), Lynn Johnston (For Better or For Worse), Don Perlin (Solar, Man of the Atom), Jerry Robinson (Batman), Bill Amend (Fox Trot), Jeff Keane(Family Circus), Sergio Aragones (MAD Magazine), Greg Evans (Luann) and Mell Lazarus (Momma)!

Congratulations on a terrific jam piece Steve-o!  That is an amazing group of artists and a wonderful keepsake from the event.  I am sorry the museum was not a success, but at least you have some great memories from the convention!  What a thrill it must have been to meet and get sketches from comic legends Will Eisner and Jerry Robinson along with so many other great strip and comic artists!

Thanks, Jimbo!  Not only did I get to hobnob with Comic Strip Royalty but, I also was a volunteer for the museum and got to conduct a video interview with Will Eisner, after which he graciously did  a Spirit sketch for me.  Priceless memories, indeed.
