Description

The fourth commission I got from John Byrne. The Captain is one of those characters that I liked as a kid and always thought Byrne would make fantastic. Originally this idea was going to be bigger with more characters in it. While I decided that the bigger idea wouldn't "work" I did like the matching of these two characters.

Artistically my favorite of my Byrne's.

This one is just classidc Byrne. He does the best Red Skull I've ever seen. Love the extension he gets on the leg on this piece, and the backs are incredible. Maybe my favorite in your collection

I'm from WI,USA & orderedd those original Capt.Canuck comics by mail. Loved the art & the character. Great commission! Too bad Byrne did draw the series in the 70's! I wish Marvel had picked up the character in the 70's. He could have & should had led Alpha Flight! Loved that series as well when Byrne was doing it.

I remember chasing these Captain Canuck comics in the mid-to-late 1970s (?); great idea you had on this one.

Great idea and super execution from Byrne! Interesting how Byrne chose a pose for the Red Skull that almost forms a swastika and of course I like the Canada vs. Nazi Germany angle. Wonderful finished background on this as well. I'd like to see more Captain Canuck on CAF!
