Description

My first commissioned piece from John Byrne, and my first commission. He's always been a favorite artist since I was a kid and as soon as I found that he does original commissions I knew I had to get something. Knowing that Byrne won't just draw anything I tried to think of something that he'd like to draw and I'd like to have. Once I remembered he's a fan of the Doom Patrol I pretty much knew what I wanted. MODOK came in when I was thinking of what other cool 60's character I could add as a villain. Original Size: 20x30

Very cool commission and I love that it is a subject we have never seen Byrne do in commission before. Must be a wonder to see in person.

Byrne's large commissions are nearly always masterpieces. Stick Modok into the mix, and you have a real gem. I love this one. Great idea, fantastic execution. One of the best of the year
