Description

Here's Superman's origin in just 4 wordless panels. Now that's good graphic story-telling! I'd had my eye on this piece by Alex Perkins (www.alexanderperkins.com) ever since I saw it during the 2008/06 "Visions of an Icon" exhibit here in Toronto. The exhibit, in conjunction with the Joe Shuster Awards (www.joeshusterawards.com), celebrated the 70th anniversary of the first published Superman story. Along with others by artists such as Tom Grummett and Todd McFarlane, this piece was subsequently auctioned off to benefit the Awards and the HERO Initiative, a fund for comic veterans. Alex posted a digitally-colored version of this page on his blog and was kind enough to allow me to share it here. Enjoy! :-)
