Description

"Aquí, la Legión" ("Qui La Legione", as it was published in Italy) is another one of those Argentinian series written by Robin Wood that made me drop anything else I was reading at the time to follow the latest installment of the adventures of a platoon of Foreign Legionnaires based in the Sahara desert.

Duran's style can be pretty harsh at times, and well suited to tell the stories of hardened men fighting in an unforgiving environment against blood-thirsty enemies.

This particular page shows two features of Duran's style: blotches of black ink and thinly inked backgrounds. The former giving the idea of a stark sun flooding the scene and projecting dark shadows, the latter rendering a sort of mirage-like background, sort of when looked at through the fuzziness of high heat.
