Description
The pencils for this commission were completed by Ron Wilson back in June 2006.

The inks for this drawing were deftly applied by the uber-talented Joe Rubinstein.

I figure that every super weapon needs a bit of a back story, so with that in mind this "What if" commission has the Thing and Captain Britain fighting it out with Doctor Octopus for a mysterious jewel-topped staff.

I've always liked the original Captain Britain uniform with the magic necklace and the baton. Ron Wilson drew the character in that costume for Marvel's UK line of books on several occasions, so it was a natural to have him re-visit that incarnation of the character.

* Note: It was brought to my attention that there was one too many octopus arms on the penciled version, so I asked Joe to remove Doc Ock's arm going into the ocean. Blame me, not Joe.

Ron Wilson's pencils always show super-heroes at their most power and adding Joe's inks really brings out the very best in Ron..great piece
